Use Getting paid to choose the company collectors pay through. Stripe supports cards and eligible wallets; PayPal supports its account’s payment options; Square lets you use an existing Square merchant account. Choose No checkout at all for inquiries.
Studio ($29/month) or Studio Plus ($49/month) is required for payment workflows and private prices collectors can accept. On Free, Showcase and the trial, the relevant controls remain visible but locked. Click a locked control to see what Studio adds and Upgrade, or choose See plans to review your options. Saved settings and records are preserved.
Choose your payment company
Choose Stripe, PayPal, or Square, then select Save and continue. The saved card says Selected. This saves your choice; it does not connect an account or switch on checkout.
Connect your own account
You need an account with the company you choose. Read the permission explanation, tick the agreement, and select Connect Stripe, Connect PayPal, or Connect Square when that button is available. You go to the payment company’s secure site to sign in, choose your account, and approve Farbase’s access. Your password stays there. You do not copy secret keys or set up notifications yourself.
Return to Getting paid and check the saved Account name and Account reference. These identify the account for this studio. A previous connection can already be shown; selecting a card does not create one. If the page says the account was set up earlier, use Confirm account with Stripe or Confirm account with Square to sign in and approve access without first disconnecting. Past sales stay saved. If the account is wrong, disconnect it and connect the correct one. Cancelling at the provider leaves checkout off.
Turn on checkout
A connected account does not automatically accept payments. Complete the account and sales-tax requirements shown on the page. Confirm that the displayed payment account is the one that should receive your money, turn on Collectors can buy directly from my website, and select Save payment preferences. Check that the page says Checkout is switched on. If it is locked or says checkout is off, customers cannot pay yet.
If setup is not finished
If your account is connected but the company still needs business information or is reviewing it, open Finish setup in Stripe, Finish setup in PayPal, or Finish setup in Square. Follow that company’s instructions, return here, and select Check connection again. You do not need to disconnect just to finish business activation.
If Connect is marked not available yet, Farbase has not enabled that connection. There is nothing technical for you to configure. PayPal’s general artist connection is awaiting platform approval. An existing saved PayPal connection is not proof that new artists can connect.
A sales-tax hold can remain after the payment account is connected. Follow the displayed Business & tax location guidance; contact Support if it remains blocked. Do not assume the connected badge clears that hold. Test mode is explicitly labelled and cannot receive real customer payments.
Change company later
Choose another card and use Save and continue. Checkout switches off when you change company. Check the newly selected account before enabling it. Past sales keep their original provider references.
