Studio Operations protects artwork records that are already part of transaction history.
Remove this work is refused when a sale is recorded against the artwork or when sale paperwork has already been issued to a collector. Deleting the artwork in that situation would break the historical records that depend on it.
What to do instead
- If you only want the artwork off your website, change its publication or public-visibility settings instead of deleting it.
- If the artwork was sold, keep the artwork record with its sale history.
- If a sale was cancelled or refunded, close the sale correctly and archive the sale when appropriate rather than deleting the artwork record that supports the history.
Use permanent removal only for an artwork that genuinely should be deleted and is not protected by sale history or issued paperwork.
