The studio-level shipping choice Worked out per order does not mean Studio Operations calculates a carrier rate at checkout.
What Studio Operations actually does
Farbase does not contact a carrier or calculate delivery costs for you. You decide the buyer-facing shipping amount and terms.
For each artwork, the Shipping price for the buyer section can use one of these effective choices:
- Included in the asking price: the buyer is charged no separate shipping amount.
- Charged separately: you enter the exact shipping amount to add to the artwork price.
- Not included — quote separately: there is no fixed shipping amount for checkout.
- Use my studio setting: the artwork follows the studio default. Only a studio default of Included in the price supplies a checkout-ready amount automatically; the other studio defaults do not create a carrier-calculated price.
Why the collector may still get an inquiry path
Website checkout is only offered when the artwork and payment setup are ready for it. For shipping, that means the artwork must have shipping included or a fixed separate buyer charge. If Studio Operations does not have that buyer-facing amount, it does not invent one.
The public artwork page can still let the collector inquire about the work or request a studio visit instead of presenting an incomplete checkout.
If you want checkout for this artwork
- Open the artwork.
- Open its Price tab.
- Find Shipping price for the buyer.
- Choose Included in the asking price or Charged separately.
- If you choose Charged separately, enter the amount the buyer should be charged.
- Save the artwork.
This only sets the buyer-facing charge. It does not arrange delivery, choose a carrier, or calculate your actual shipping cost.
