Use this when an artwork is ready to move from a private Draft to Published.
Publish the artwork
- Look at the left sidebar in Studio Operations and click Your works.
- Open the artwork you want to publish.
- If a Readiness warning appears near the top, complete the items it names.
- When no Readiness warning remains, click the orange Publish it button beside the artwork summary.
- Studio Operations changes the work to Published and puts it on the public site.
- Open the artwork preview or your public gallery and check the result.
If Studio Operations refuses to publish
Studio Operations checks eight requirements: main image, title, materials, dimensions (height and width), year, description, price, and availability.
If something is missing, publication is blocked and Studio Operations reports Before publishing, complete: followed by the missing requirement or requirements. Follow Why can I not publish this artwork? for the exact fixes.
Shipping and a catalogue caption are not publishing blockers.
If it says Published but you still cannot see it
Use Why is my artwork not showing in the public gallery?.
To make it private again
After publication, the button becomes Take it off your site. Use Take a published artwork back to Draft if you want the work private again. If you want it to remain Published but stay off the website, use Hide a published artwork from your website.
