Sample content gives you a complete private example studio to explore. Your own records stay separate from the examples.
Add the example studio
Today → Add sample content
If Your works is completely empty, you can also use Your works → Add sample content.
The example studio includes sample artworks, people, messages, private offers, historical sales, Lookbooks and a complete private sample Microsite. Adding samples does not publish your website, send messages, take payments or restart your trial.
Restore anything that is missing
Today → Restore missing sample content
This button appears only when some example content is missing. Studio Operations restores the missing examples without deliberately duplicating the ones already there. Your own artwork records, writing and Site design choices are kept.
When everything is present again, Restore missing sample content disappears.
Remove untouched examples safely
Today → Remove sample content
- Read the warning. Studio removes only sample records it can verify as unchanged.
- Tick I understand which sample records will be removed. to enable the final Remove sample content button.
- Choose Go back to cancel, or choose Remove sample content to continue.
Your edits are kept. If you started from an Alex Rowan example and changed its artwork details or replaced its pictures, cleanup keeps that customized record and its uploaded images. Edited people, sale notes, private offers, inquiries and Lookbooks are also kept. Records needed by retained activity stay in place.
Your website writing, design and photographs are kept. Links in the website draft to artworks actually removed are cleared. Cleanup does not publish the website or rewrite its published snapshot.
Customized samples with a verified original become your own private artwork drafts. Artwork that was already marked as your own keeps its existing publication state. Check your retained works before publishing them.
Why some older examples may remain
Older sample sets do not always have a trustworthy original record to compare against. In that case Studio keeps the examples, even if they still look unchanged. A message may say that no unchanged samples could be safely removed. This is protection for your work. Do not bypass it by deleting records you need.
Adding examples again
Use Add sample content or Restore missing sample content, whichever is shown on Today, to bring back missing original examples. Kept customized artwork is not overwritten. Restoration does not refill photographs or Lookbook selections deliberately removed from records retained during cleanup. It does not recover personal content you permanently deleted through a separate action.
The current example studio
Choosing sample content when you create a studio gives you the Alex Rowan example collection and website with your own chosen artist name. It includes 20 works: 11 paintings and 9 sculptures, plus two Lookbooks. Paintings have six example image views; sculptures have five selectable views. The artist, biography, exhibitions and studio photographs are fictional examples to replace with your own.
The examples start privately. Opening the editor, changing their order or restoring missing samples does not publish them. Your new studio starts with the current example artwork order, which you can change independently. Later changes to the example studio do not rearrange your existing records.
What visitors see
Samples never go to collectors in a Lookbook. Preview labels them Sample, not sent to collectors; shared links and exported PDFs leave them out. If no real works are selected, Send it shows Add your own works before sending this lookbook.
Only you can see supplied sample artwork, website photographs and fictional biography, exhibition or press details in your signed-in Studio preview. Ordinary subscribers cannot publish those examples on a public website. Replace them with your own artwork, photographs and verified details before publishing. The protected original Alex Rowan benchmark and the three Farbase-owned Alex Rowan showcase sites are public demonstrations. This exception does not make subscriber sample content public.
Read the removal result
The confirmation identifies the unchanged sample records that can be removed and the example works that must be kept. The result reports what was removed and retained. When nothing can safely be removed, Remove sample content is hidden.
Sample messages use your studio’s artist name. Sample private offers open as clearly marked owner previews; they cannot be accepted or shared as real offers with collectors.
