Every artwork record is either a Draft or Published. These states describe the artwork record itself. Public visibility is a separate control.
Draft
A Draft is private. It stays in Studio Operations but is not meant to appear in your public gallery. Drafts are useful while you are still adding images, words, price, availability, or other details.
New artworks deliberately start this way. See Why new artworks start as drafts.
Published
A Published artwork has passed Studio Operations’ publishing checks and can be shown publicly.
To move a ready Draft to Published, follow Publish an artwork to your website. If the Publish action is blocked, use the publishing troubleshooting guide.
Take a Published work back to Draft
Follow Take a published artwork back to Draft. This fully unpublishes the artwork and makes it private again.
Published and visible are related, but not identical
You can keep a work Published while hiding it from the public gallery. Use Hide a published artwork from your website. To show it again later, use Show a hidden published artwork on your website.
If a work says Published but does not appear on the website, continue to the missing-artwork guide.
