Readiness is the warning panel at the top of an individual artwork record when public information is still missing. It tells you what Studio Operations needs before that work can be published. It is not a separate page or tab.
Open Readiness
- Look at the left sidebar in Studio Operations and click Your works.
- Open the artwork.
- If information is missing, look near the top of the artwork record for the Readiness warning.
The eight publishing requirements
Readiness uses the same checks as the Publish action itself. Studio Operations requires:
- a main image
- a title
- materials
- height and width
- the year it was made
- a public description
- a price
- an availability
Shipping is not required to publish. A catalogue caption is also not required. Those items do not block publication.
What the warning says
If one item is missing, the warning says One thing is needed before you can publish. If several are missing, it says [N] things are needed before you can publish. It then lists what is missing.
When every required item is present, the warning disappears. The orange Publish it button remains available beside the artwork summary.
Completing Readiness does not publish anything
Completing every required item does not make the artwork public. The work stays a private Draft until you deliberately click Publish it.

Before publishing
Open Preview an artwork before publishing and check the collector-facing result. When the record is ready and the preview is correct, follow Publish an artwork to your website.
Go straight to a missing detail
Choose a missing-detail label to open its editing tab. Description opens Words, materials opens Facts, A main image opens the photo picker directly, and price or availability opens Price. In a materials field, Enter adds the material without saving the whole artwork.
If there is no main image, the Add image box in the artwork’s left rail opens the same photo picker.
