Use this when an artwork has been saved as a Draft but several things are still missing and you want to finish it without guessing at the publishing requirements.
Open the artwork and check Readiness
If public essentials are missing, the Readiness warning names them. A Draft can be saved before every public requirement is finished, so being incomplete is normal while you are still working. See What Readiness means.
Add the required artwork facts
Review the title, year, materials and dimensions. Use Change an artwork’s title, year, category or subject and Change an artwork’s dimensions or materials when those facts need work.
Add at least one usable public image
The artwork needs an image before it can be published. If an image will not upload, use Fix an artwork image that will not upload. For supported formats and limits, see Artwork image limits and supported file types.
Finish the public description
Open the Words tab and make sure the public description is complete. Working notes are private and do not replace the public description. See Change an artwork’s public description.
Set price and availability
Review the artwork price and choose the availability state that is actually true now. Not set can block publishing. See Why Not set availability blocks publishing.
Preview before publishing
Use Preview an artwork before publishing to check the public result before changing the work to Published.
Publish
When the Readiness warning disappears, click the orange Publish it button beside the artwork summary. If Studio Operations still refuses, use Why can I not publish this artwork? and address the specific remaining item rather than changing unrelated settings.
