Settings → Shipping is where you set studio-wide shipping defaults. An individual artwork can override the default on its own Price tab.
Choose the studio default
Under How shipping is handled, choose one of these:
- Included in the price: artworks using the studio default treat shipping as included in the asking price.
- Worked out per order: this is a studio message/default, not an automatic carrier calculation. For checkout, set an exact buyer-facing shipping charge on the artwork itself.
- Ask me for a quote: shipping is not given a fixed checkout amount by the studio default.
Studio Operations does not contact carriers, calculate delivery rates, or choose a destination for you.
Set a different shipping price for one artwork
Open the artwork and use Price → Shipping price for the buyer. The artwork can:
- use the studio setting;
- include shipping in the asking price;
- charge a separate amount that you enter;
- leave shipping without a fixed amount so you can quote it separately.
A fixed website checkout requires shipping to be included or an exact separate charge to be saved for that artwork. See Why shipping may still be quoted by inquiry.
Other shipping settings
- Set where you ship and which carriers you use for origin, destinations, carriers and freight threshold.
- Set your default artwork packing details for packaging, added packed size and added packed weight.
- Turn on shipping insurance or signature requirements.
- Add customs information for international shipping.
After a sale
Studio defaults are not the shipping record for one sold artwork. For a real sale, use Update shipping and tracking after a sale. For the packing slip or shipping summary, start with What is sale paperwork?.
