Use the artwork’s Price tab for its asking price and both kinds of shipping amount. Studio Operations keeps your private shipping cost separate from what a buyer is charged.
Change the asking price or your private shipping cost
- Look at the left sidebar in Studio Operations and click Your works.
- Open the artwork.
- Click the Price tab.
- Under What it costs, and what you keep, change the Asking price.
- If needed, change Special price. This is a work-level alternate price, not a person-specific private offer.
- If needed, change What shipping costs you. This is your private estimate for packing, insurance and delivery. Collectors do not see it.
Set what the buyer is charged for shipping
In Shipping price for the buyer, choose how this artwork handles shipping:
- Use my studio setting;
- Included in the asking price;
- Charged separately, then enter the exact amount to add to the buyer total;
- Not included — quote separately.
You can also add an optional shipping note for the buyer. This note does not calculate charges or restrict destinations.
When you are finished, click Save price.
Why the two shipping numbers are separate
What shipping costs you is private and is used when Studio Operations estimates what you keep. Shipping charged to the buyer is part of the buyer-facing total when you choose a fixed separate charge. The two amounts do not have to be the same.
Farbase does not contact a carrier or calculate delivery rates automatically. See Choose how shipping is handled for the studio default and artwork override rules.
If you want to offer one collector a different price
Do not overwrite the public asking price just to make a temporary offer. Use Create a private price for one person.
If the price is hidden on the website
Use Change which artwork facts collectors can see. Appearance controls whether the stored price is displayed publicly.
If a missing price is blocking Publish, use Why can I not publish this artwork?.
Price and a separate shipping quote
Artwork prices must be below 100,000,000 in your studio currency. If shipping is quoted separately, the paperwork labels it Quoted separately and identifies the recorded subtotal; an unknown shipping charge is not presented as a free shipment.
Using your Studio shipping setting at checkout
When a work uses Use my studio setting and your Studio setting includes shipping in the price, website checkout adds no shipping charge. If your Studio setting requires a separate quote, checkout stays unavailable until you set a fixed buyer shipping amount or include shipping for that work. Your private shipping cost is never added to the buyer total.
